The last blog post for the semester. Will I keep writing in this blog? Yeah probably not. The only thing that kept me constantly writing something were my mission journals but even those were a struggle. My experience writing a blog was a good one though. I love having a medium where I can just throw down all my thoughts. It is almost therapeutic to just free type/write which is what I made this blog. I loved the use of the blog as a way to make sure we listened in class and learned something so that is a smart educational way to use social media so good on you Brother Kinghorn.
This last week in class we all gave our presentations for our social media groups. I was placed into the Pinterest group and it was a really great experience. It is one of the few social media platforms that I actually enjoyed and I think the main reason is because it doesn’t rely on friends and followers and glamorizing yourself. Instead you just find different topics that interest you. In each presentation I learned something new.
After the presentations we talked a little bit about pros and cons of social media. We talked specifically about trolls. Now, trolling I find an interesting topic. I feel that everyone in some way shape or form have trolled. I remember the days back where gaming was a big thing for me which was like over 5 years ago. I still play video games but not as consistently as I did in the past. I remember the times of joy I found while trolling my friends. It is like the use of sarcasm over the internet. Gamers are known for their annoying trolling habits. But this shows that the concept has been around way longer then a lot of the social media platforms out there.
Now, forms of trolling can lead to cyber bullying especially in social media where everything spreads like wild fire. This is why you must be careful of what you post and do on the internet and especially who you associate with.
But anyway that is all for the #Psychsocialmedia class. Adios muchachos.
